Uncle Jack (John Woodruff) and Aunt Lib (Mary Elizabeth Prill) and children left by covered wagon in 1874 just north of Hoovers Station, Athens, when my father was seven years old from the old homestead for Arkansas. Uncle Jack led the procession with gun on his shoulder and the dogs along, Aunt Lib driving two yoke of oxen and the children with her in the wagon and two horses tied on behind the wagon so that if they got stuck in the mud or mire they could hitch the horses on ahead of the oxen and pull themselves out of the mud. Uncle Jack and Aunt Lib both died in Arkansas with the swamp fever (or malaria). The children emigrated back to Logansport, Indiana for my father Frank White talked with one of the boys when he and wife and children came north and his wife were married before his wife's folks moved from Logansport to a farm north of thens, Indiana. Uncle Jack was a hunter and trapper.3
