Bill L. Hackett, 73, of 508 W. Walnut St., Bradford, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born Aug. 20, 1928 in Bradford to the late Elwood and Miriam (Sargent) Hackett. Mr. Hackett was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School. He retired from the Cadillac Gage Co. in Greenville. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Glen Germain of Lawrenceburg, Ind; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Deborah Hackett of Covington; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Lucile Derick of Dayton; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Mary Hackett of Manasquan, N.J., George and Elaine Hackett of Celina and Galen and Connie Hackett of Bradford. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home in Covington. Dennis Sargent will officiate. Burial will be in Harris Creek Cemetery in Bradford. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home.²
