He was born Aug. 20, 1928 in Bradford to the late Elwood and Miriam (Sargent) Hackett. Mr. Hackett was a 1946 graduate of Bradford High School. He retired from the Cadillac Gage Co. in Greenville. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Glen Germain of Lawrenceburg, Ind; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Deborah Hackett of Covington; several nieces and nephews; one sister, Lucile Derick of Dayton; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Mary Hackett of Manasquan, N.J., George and Elaine Hackett of Celina and Galen and Connie Hackett of Bradford. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Pearson-Jackson Funeral Home in Covington. Dennis Sargent will officiate. Burial will be in Harris Creek Cemetery in Bradford. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home.2
