A native of Chatham County, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Curtis and Daisy Alice Johnson Curtis. He retired from Cone Mills after 40 years of service. Survivors include three nieces, Brenda Bare and husband, David, of Yanceyville; Debra Coats of Burlington, and Sandy Hawkins of Haw River; and seven great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alene Coats; and a brother, David G. Curtis. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Linwood Cemetery in Graham.4
