Obit* | Grover Cleveland's obituary was published in the Daily Times-News on 6 February 1961: Graham – Final rites for Grover Cleveland Curtis, 7x, of 412 Harbor Street, Graham, were held at 3 o’clock this afternoon at McClure Funeral Home in Graham. Mr. Curtis died at 6 o’clock Saturday night after three years of failing health and three days of critical illness. The service was conducted by Rev. Fleet Millsap, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. Ray Anderson, pastor of the Graham Church of God. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery. Mr. Curtis was a retired textile worker and a native of Alamance County. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Daisy Alice Curtis and son of the late Samuel and Mrs. Ora Cheek Curtis. He is survived by two sons, Joe Samuel Curtis of Graham and David Curtis of Raleigh; one daughter, Mrs. Coats of Graham; three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Evans and Mrs. Bessie Dixon, both of Graham.2 |
