She was a member of Oakwood Church of God of Prophecy and was the widow of Paul Benson. Survivors include two daughters, Kay E. Smith, Rucker, Ga., and Helen R. Hudson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla; three sons, Billy Benson, Huntingdon, Tenn., Jimmy Benson, Decatur, Tenn., and Lee Roy Benson, Rossville; brother, Carl Mull, Tasso, Tenn; seven sisters, Lena Longwith, Pauline Mull and Mrs. Benny Swafford, all of Tasso, Elizabeth Davis and Gladys Gates, both of Cleveland, Tenn., Beulah Pickelsimer, Ooltewah, and Elmina Leaman, Summit; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. L.E. Butler officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.5 |

Stanton of Houston, Texas, Ricky J. Stanton of Riceville, Keith E. Walden of Niota, and Raymond Stanton of Riceville; four sisters, Dean Stanton of Georgia, Deborah Shelton of Joelton, Tammy Stanton of Georgia, and Wanda Martin of Madisonville; and several grandchildren. Funeral services were 8 p.m. Saturday in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Shelton and the Rev. Dewey Feezell officiating. Burial was 2 p.m. Sunday in Coghill Cemetery and concluded with the White Dove Liberation Ceremony.2 |
