Obit | Guy Russell's obituary was published in the Rochester Sentinel on 10 August 1894: Guy Ranney, of Columbus, Ohio, and his younger brother came to spend his vacation and enjoy country life on the farm of his uncle, Albert Fields, who lives west of the city. Guy was a great favorite of his uncle and loved to come and stay with him during vacation. While here he took sick, his mother was sent for and came at once, but despite all that could be done for him he rapidly sank to death. He was 13 years and 9 months old and the remains were taken to Columbus for burial after a funeral service at the home of Mr. Fields by Rev. Newman.3 |

He was a brother of Jackson Otto of Farmers Valley and a son of Judge Otto, deceased, who was one of the oldest oldtimers, and a pioneer of McKean county. Albert settled on Knapp's Creek about 37(?) years ago, at the head of the South Brach, about a mile above Bixford(?), and moved to Nebraska ten years ago, returning last February. He lived a christian life and was a member of the M. E. Church. It is a notable fact that he had not eaten any food for some three week previous to his demise, and had slept very little. His disease was called softening of the brain." |

Obit | George Adams's obituary was published in the Norfolk Daily News on 14 April 1954: Crawford Valley, Neb. DNS -- Word was received here Sunday of the death of George Otto, 50, of Cheney, Wash., which occurred that day. Mr. Otto was a brother of Mrs. Gib Alexander, Mrs. Howard Johnson and Mrs. Ray Boies, all of Crawford Valley. Mr. and Mrs. Otto and family lived for many years at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, but moved to Cheney a few months ago. Mr. Otto was born at Petersburg and attended schools in Boone and Pierce Counties. He was married to Miss Beryl Shermer Aug. 3, 1927, and four children were born to them. One son, Billy, gave his life for his country in Korea. Mr. Otto is survived by his wife, one daughter, two sons, two grandchildren and other relatives. (page 13.)6 |
