On 22 November 1799 Moses Curtis purchased land at Union, South Carolina, from James Curtis for $300, with the consent of Mary Curtis, described as the same 150 acres of land conveyed by James Martin, dec'd to John Little and from him to Fielding Curtis and from him to James Curtis, bordering on Fairforest, witnessed by Fielding Curtis, Philip Bryant and Pennell.⁵

On 27 March 1801 Moses Curtis and Patsey (Patty) (?) sold land at Union, South Carolina, to John Goodin for 14 pounds, with the consent of Moses' wife Patsey, described as 30 acres on a branch to Fairforest, witnessed by John Curtis, James Gibbs and illegible Torrence.⁷

On 11 September 1802, Patty Curtis was accepted by experience as a member of the Padgett's Creek Baptist Church and Union County Baptist Association. Moses apparently did not join the church, based on the absence of his name from these and later minutes.⁸

Land Sale*

On 19 October 1803 Moses Curtis and Patsey (Patty) (?) sold land at Union, South Carolina, to Thomas Hays for $200, described as 125 acres, lying on Fairforest Creek, adjacent to George Harlan, conveyed to him by James Curtis, witnessed by John Curtis, proven in court on 2 April 1805.⁹
