He served a number of years as Trustee of Plain Township in Franklin County, Ohio. He was a member of Dodson Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served as Chairman of Pastor-Parrish Relations, and was a member of the Algood Lions Club. Mr. Curtis was co-founder, served as Adjutant, and chaplain, and former Commander of the Dillard-Judd Camp 1828 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). He was also a former Regimental Commander in the State SCV. His family includes his wife of 44 years, Nancy Edwards Curtis of Cookeville, whom he married on Dec. 24, 1959, in Germantown, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Gary Wojcik of Round Rock, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Jodie Curtis of Hartville, Ohio, and Bradley and Beth Curtis of Johnstown, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Russ Cyphers of Cookeville; and four grandchildren, David Edward Curtis Jr., Brittany, Brooke and Bryce Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Rev. Jackie Wheeler will officiate at the services.2 |

Vernon on Monday. The body reached Weisinger-Tygart Funeral Home last night from Las Vegas, Nev., where Randolph died after being stricken with a heart attack en route from California to his home in Phoenix. As a youth he was employed by the former Keck-Gonnerman Co. in Mt. Vernon and for 31 years prior to his retirement a year ago he was employed by Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, Ill. He was assistant chief inspector at the time of his retirement. Father Raymond B. Smith, pastor of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Weisinger-Tygart chapel. Burial will be in Bellefontaine cemetery. Surviving are the wife, Iva Curtis Randolph, Evansville, and a married daughter, Roberta Hutchinson, Kan. |
