Birth* | Joshua Curtis Jr. was born in 1833 at Posey, Indiana; age is based on the order in which the names of the heirs appear in Joshua's probate record; no further information on this younger Joshua.3,2 |
NoteB* | The name Joshua Curtis appears on a list of men from Posey County who went to California seeking gold; there are stories that he eventually returned and was well-off, but I have not found his name in public records. There is a Joshua F. Curtis, born 1839-1841, who appears twice in the 1870 census for Yolo County, California, who would fit except for seeming to be a bit too young. |
