Obit | Edward Henry's obituary was published in the Wenatchee World on 10 November 1988: Henry Edward Curtis, 96, a 53-year resident of the Wenatchee area, died in Parkside Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1988. was born in Nebo, Ill., on March 25, 1892, to Samuel and Icy (Zumwalt) Curtis. He spent a number of years in Illinois and then Iowa, coming eventually to Kansas City, Mo., where he remained for a time. In 1916, he married Agatha Bartlett. She died in 1958. That same year he married Selma Covey. He came to the Wenatchee area in 1935, and worked at the Harris Mill in Ardenvoir for some time. He was also a Pentecostal minister in Ardenvoir and Wenatchee for a number of years. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Jameson of Anacortes; three stepdaughters, Velma Fulwiler of Malaga and Orlie Carkaden and Evelyn Nieshe, both of Concrete; one stepson, Donald Cook of Puyallup; one brother, Maynard Curtis of Mountain Grove, Mo; four sisters, all of Mountain Grove; 25 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1975, two sons and one grandson. Betts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.3 |
