MILLER, 56, 1108 Madison street, died enroute to South Bend Memorial hospital late Friday afternoon after becoming ill at work at the Torrington Roller Bearing company in South Bend. His wife, the former Florence DAWALD, was visiting the couple’s two daughters in New York City at the time her husband died. Mr. Miller’s mother, Mrs. M. G. MILLER, 925 Madison street, also was in New York City at the time. Additional details were unavailable immediately. The Zimmerman Brothers funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for Harold Earl MILLER, 56, 1108 Madison street, who died unexpectedly at 3:30 p.m. Friday enroute to Memorial hospital in South Bend. The Rev. Donald LAMBERT will officiate and burial will be in the Fulton cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. The family requests memorials other than flowers be made to the Heart Fund. He was born Nov. 23, 1912, near Fulton, the son of George J. and Montana SCHLINDER MILLER. His marriage was Nov. 23, 1932, in Fulton to Florence DAWALD, who survives. Mr. Miller was employed as a maintenance man in the Torrington Bearing Division in South Bend. He had been a resident of Rochester ten years, moving from Mishawaka. He was a member of the Broadway United Methodist Church in Logansport, the Rochester Masonic lodge 79, Rochester Chapter 90, RAM, and the Eastern Star at Fulton. Surviving with the wife are two daughters, Mrs. Elof (Nedra) CARLSON, Setauket, N.Y., and Mrs. Sonya HOOVER, New York City; seven grandchildren; his father, of Sacramento, Cal; his mother, Mrs. M. G. MILLER, Rochester; one brother, Robert MILLER, St. Louis, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Frank (Lillian Ann) BLACKBURN, Las Vegas, Nev. One brother, Dale [MILLER], preceded in death.6 |

Fleece, 73 years and 13 days, died Monday night, May 18, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Della Mae Miller, of this place, where he had been confined to his bed several days. Six children, Floyd, Woodrow, Mrs. Della Mae Miller, Mr. Walter Neely, Mrs. Charles Frederick and Mrs. William Miller, all of this county, survive. The funeral, in charge of C.L. Hunter, funeral director, was conducted Thursday afternoon at Bethel Church. The officiating minister was the Rev. Albert Gingrich. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.4 |
