Born May 12, 1922, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Ray and Edna (Flynn) Odaffer. He married Peggy Ware Goodrich on Nov. 12, 1944, in Jacksonville, Ill., and she preceded him in death on Sept. 27, 2006. He was area supervisor for Sears Roebuck and in sales for Hanes Co., was co-owner of Stephenson's Clothing Store in Bedford with Mel and Mary Hammel, and also was owner/operator of Western Auto in Bedford. He was an elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bedford, and a member of the Elks Lodge in Bedford. Surviving are two sons, Craig Odaffer and wife Jeanne of Bedford, and Kent Odaffer and wife Kathy of Yuma, Ariz; four grandchildren, Jennifer McPike of Ellettsville, Chad Odaffer and wife Tina of Hanover, Stephanie Beaver and husband Mike of Bedford and Candace Odaffer of Bedford; five great-grandchildren, C.J. and Tyler McPike, Carter Odaffer, Nikolas Beaver, Joseph Odaffer; one brother, George Odaffer of Melbourne, Fla; and one sister, Louise Clayton of Jacksonville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, two brothers, Harold and Howard Odaffer, and one sister, Mary Thower. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Cresthaven Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.2 |
