He was an avid fisherman. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Heights Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, Houston, Texas.3 |

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Farmers Branch; daughters, Cathy Harris of Chandler, AZ, Charlene Burleson of Phoenix, AZ, Donna Owens of Prosper, Gail Drake of Abilene, Connie Cox of Flowermound and Renea Stailey of Corinth; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Freddie Curtis of Pilot Point; sisters, Betty Peacock of Pilot Point and Barbara Bonneau of Farmers Branch. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Pallbearers will be Chris Harris, Jason Busby, Bradley Burleson, Clifford Burleson, Cory Drake and Sam Cox. Obit | Henry's obituary was published in the Miami Union on 9 May 1912: Henry Eyer, a prominent and widely known retired farmer, died at his home on South Market street early Monday morning. He had been confined to his room but two or three weeks although he had not been well for several months. He was born in Lostcreek township Feb. 28, 1832, and was one of the nine children of Samuel and Esther Eyer. Oct. 25, 1866, he married Caroline Jones, and his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Forest Kissinger, and one brother, David Eyer, 86, of Webster City, Iowa, survive him. After many years spent in farming, he removed to Troy about 27 years ago and engaged in the coal and feed business. For several years now he has been entirely retired from business. The funeral services were held from the residence Wednesday afternoon with interment in Riverside cemetery.1
