She is survived by four daughters, Nancy Waugh and Nora Dusing, both of Berkeley Springs, Mary Virginia Beckman, Swanton, MD and Brigette Hausman, Cumberland, MD; four sons, Tom Waugh, Alexandria, VA, Arthur Charles A.C. Waugh, Fairbanks, AK, Jess Waugh, Atlanta, GA and Jay Waugh, Berkeley Springs; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Brill and Martha Price; three brothers; Charles Hunter, Ted Shackeford and William Hunter; and two grandchildren, Teresa Waugh and Christopher Waugh. Services will be held Thursday, November 19, at 1 p.m. at the Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, 106 S. Mercer Street, Berkeley Springs, with Edwin Floyd officiating. Interment will be in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.3 |

He worked with the Division of Technical Services, U.s. Government, Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Washington, D.C. and retired in 1983. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He played and sang bluegrass music with "Bennie and Vallie Cain and the Country Clan" from 1946-1992. Surviving are four nieces; seven nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vallie R. Kave Cain on April 15, 1993 and his son, Andre Paul Cain on June 29, 1996. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Hennis H. Fox officiating. Interment with military graveside honors by the Tri-State Honor Guard was in Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.4 |
