Born in Berkeley Springs January 1, 1893, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Miller Allen. Her husband, Russell Widmeyer, died in 1949. Mrs. Widmeyer was the oldest member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and was active in all phases of the work of the church until failing health made it impossible. She was one of the organizers of St. Mark's Altar Guild. She is survived by three nieces, Mrs. Doris Rockwell, Baltimore, Md; Mrs. June Smith, Hagerstown, Md; and Mrs. Louise Bunting, Baltimore, Md. Services were held Monday, August 13, at Hunter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jack O. Bird, vicar of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Interment was in Greenway Cemetery.3 |
