Eva Gail, daughter of John W. and Daisy CONRAD was born in the Mt. Zion neighborhood on January 22nd, 1916. Her mother preceded her in death. With the exception of a few years spent in Ft. Wayne, Miss Conrad lived in Fulton county her entire life. The survivors are her father, John CONRAD; a brother, Roscoe [CONRAD], and a sister, Mrs. Howard KING, all of near this city. Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church, with Rev. Glenn McGEE and Rev. H. T. RAFNEL officiating. Burial is to be made in the Mount Zion
cemetery.2

He was a lifetime resident of Fulton County. On Aug. 3, 1935 in Rochester he married Rachel CONRAD who survives. He was a retired farmer and retired employee of Safeway Steel Corp. of Rochester. He was a 63-year member of the Rochester First Baptist Church and a 50-year member of the Rochester Masonic Lodge. Preceding in death were two brothers, Raymond and Devon [CRAIG]. She was the daughter of the late Samuel U. and Katie G. Gantt Huffman. She was of the Protestant faith. She attended the old Grape Hill School in Morgan County. She worked at the Interwoven Stocking Mill in Berkeley Springs.
Survivors include: three sisters, Hazel Ruppenthal of Martinsburg, Sadie P. Householder of Ft. Ashby, Marguerite Brakeall of Baltimore; one brother, Edgar J. Huffman of Ridgeley, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mason in 1955. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Hennis H. Fox officiating, assisted by his brother Jim Snoderly. Interment was in Spohrs Cross Roads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.6

Ray Samuel Huffman, 32, of near Hancock, Md., died Tuesday morning in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md., after a long illness. He was a native of Sleepy Creek, son of Samuel U. and Katie Gantt Huffman, but had resided near Hancock for the past 12 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Ilda Genevieve Shepard; two daughters-Sharon Rose and Ruth Marie, at home; two sons-Ray Samuel, Jr., and Ronald Lee at home; two brothers-Floyd, Bloomery; Edgar, Fort Ashby; and six sisters-Mrs. Mae Ridgeway, Great Cacapon; Mrs. Bessie Mason, Berkeley Springs; Mrs. Hazel Ruppenthal, Martinsburg; Mrs. Mary Shives, Hancock; Mrs. Sadie Householder, Fort Ashby; and Mrs. Marguerite Brakeall, Brosius.4
