Services were conducted a the Parks-Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. Paul Gruver, of Staunton, Va., a former pastor, officiating. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.2 |

He served in the 3rd Reconnaissance Squadron, U.S. Army, during World War II and was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Risinger-Stotler V.V.W. Post #4019, Berkeley Springs, Webster B. Harrison American Legion Post #26, Hancock, Md. And the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #120, Martinsburg. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Violet Fern Michael Duckwall, at home; one son, Gary L. Duckwall, Chambersburg, Pa; two grandsons; one great grandson; one sister, Neva Woods, Berkeley Springs; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Marie Duckwall and three brothers, Chester Duckwall and two infant brothers. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31 at Helsley Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Hennis H. Fox officiating. Interment with full military graveside honors was in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.4 |

Obit | Foster Boyd's obituary was published in the Morgan Messenger on 30 January 1947: Foster B. Lutman, 53, son of the late James William and Sarah Ann Waugh Lutman, died Monday evening, January 27, following an illness of several months. He had spent several weeks recently in Mount Alto Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was a native of Morgan county and a veteran of World War I, serving overseas with the Rainbow Division. He had been employed locally by the Potomac Light and Power Company for more than 24 years and was the oldest Berkeley Springs employee in point of service. During his entire employment he was driver of the derrick truck and ha a perfect no accident record for which he had received a number of commendations. Surviving is one son, William, a student at West Virginia University, Morgantown. Funeral services were held this (Thursday) afternoon at the Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. E.D. Spencer, of Trinity Evangelical U.B. Church, officiating. Members of Alderton-Dawson Post 60, The American Legion, of which he was a member, acted as pallbearers. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.12 |
