He was the son of the late John H. and Henrietta Stewart Butts. He attended Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer in Morgan County all his life.
Surviving are one daughter, Violet C. Fox of Berkeley Springs; two sons; Lee Junior Butts of Martinsburg; John Glenroy Butts of Berkeley Springs; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Catherine Cain Butts in 1974. Services were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at the Helsley Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Thomas W. Jackson officiating. Interment was in the Highland Ridge Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.5

A service will be held Wednesday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at the Grove Funeral Home, Hancock, Rev. Duane Jensen will officiate. Baker Post 896, V.F.W; Berkeley Post 14, American Legion; Martinsburg Lodge 120, Loyal Order of Moose; former member of Pikeside Ruritan Club; and a member of the church and VA bowling leagues.

Dennis Cain of Louisville, Ky; one sister, Nellie Lutman of Hancock, Md; one brother, Joseph Cain of Martinsburg; four grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Cain of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, November 30 in the Bond Secours Hospital, Baltimore, Md. She was born in Morgan County on October 24, 1897, a daughter of the late James and Annie McConaghay Harden. Mrs. Cain was a member of the United Methodist faith. For many years she was employed at the Interwoven Mills in Berkeley Springs. Surviving are two sons, Boyd R. Cain, Lorain, Ohio; Calvin H. Cain, Baltimore, Md; two brothers, Wilbur E. Harden and Albert Harden, both of Berkeley Springs; 11 grand children; 21 great great children and one great great grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 2 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Calvin S. Harden officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Sophrs Cross Roads.2

Boyd R. Cain, 72, of Lorain, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 5, 1990, at the Cleveland Clinic after a five-week illness. He was born October 2, 1918 in Berkeley Springs, and lived in Lorain the past 42 years. He worked 30 years at U.S. Steel's Lorain Works, retiring in 1978 as a metallurgy supervisor. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, U.S. Steel's Management Club and the American Association of Retired Persons, Elyria. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (nee Farlow); daughter, Peggy Ramirez of Lorain; sons Richard of Avon and Fred of Savannah, Ga; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Calvin Cain of Baltimore, Md. Services were held at Schwartz, Spencer & Boyer Home for Funerals, 1124 Fifth St., Lorain, Ohio, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, with the Rev. Darrell Farney officiating. Burial was in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Lorain.3
