Longtime Dalhart resident Faye Field died Monday night, April 9 in Dumas. She was 79. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12 in the First Baptist Church of Dalhart with Rev. Travis LaDuke, pastor and Rev. W.R. Lawrence retired, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery under direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Mrs. Field was born May 7, 1910 in Lubbock and was raised there. While working as a secretary, she met L.J. Field and they were married in Lubbock. Around 1938, they moved to Amarillo and then moved to Dalhart in 1940. The couple farmed until L.J.'s death in 1977.
Faye Field served on the Good Samaritan Christian Services Board of Directors and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. She was also very active on the church's Decorating Committee.
Survivors include two sons, James M. Field and Ell Dee Field, both of Dalhart; one brother, W.O. Murray of Oklahoma; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ell Dee was born on December 17, 1942 to Leo James and Faye Field in Amarillo, Texas. He died January 10, 2015 at age 72. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Murray Field.Ell Dee graduated from Dalhart High School and attended Texas Tech University. He returned to his hometown, Dalhart, and married Kay Lynn Field. He spent 65 years in Dalhart before moving to Kemp, TX in 2008 in order to be closer to his grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports in Lucas, Texas.Ell Dee was heavily involved in the First Baptist Church in Dalhart and Gun Barrel City and deeply rooted in his faith and witnessing for the Lord. He was a Deacon for 40 years and enjoyed being a Sunday School Teacher. During his life in Dalhart he served on numerous boards in the community: Farm Bureau, Dalhart Consumers, FHA, Chamber of Commerce, Little Dribblers, and was active in 4H. He was a lifetime member of the Quarter Horse Association as well as numerous cattle and horse associations. He was a steward of the land and enjoyed his life of farming, ranching, raising Angus cattle and Quarter horses.

He is survived by his wife of ¬51 years, Kay Lynn Field and their three sons; Douglas Dee Field, married to Beth Grant-Field; Dan James Field, married to Paula Smith-Field, and their two children, Hannah Nicole Field and Reece Avery Field; and David Quinton Field; his sister-in-law, Fern Hamilton, and her three daughters, Leslie Kaye Reeves, Jamie Carter and Laurie Forks as well as many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation on behalf of the Deacon Ministries of the First Baptist Church of Gun Barrel City. Ell Dee was a deacon for 40 years and their ministry was very important to him.2
