Obit | Joseph Newton's obituary was published in the Asheville Citizen-Times on 10 February 1952: BLOWING ROCK-Joe White 73, retired cabinet maker and lifelong resident of Blowing Rock, died in a Blowing Rock hospital Saturday morning following a long illness. Funeral services will be held Monday in Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church, the time depending on arrival of relatives. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home of Boone is in Charge.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Cenia Gragg White; nine grand-children; one grear-grandchild. Also seven daughters, Mrs. Stephen Ruznar and Mrs. Gus Lee of Annapolis, Md., Miss Edith White of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Dewey Isenhour of Blowing Rock, Mrs. Hardin Wheeler of Camp Pickett, Va., Mrs. William Broach of Lenoir, and Mrs. Jimmy Craig of Wilmington, N.C; one son William White of Blowing Rock, two sister, Mrs. Bessie Tugman of Gastonia, and Mrs. Pearl Buchanan of Boone; one brother, George White of Lenoir.
