He was a founding member and former president of Memphis Artists and Craftsmen Association. Mr. Curtis, the widower of Virginia Dabney Curtis, leaves a son, Rev. Dr. James D. Curtis of Atlanta, six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Emmanuel Episcopal Center. |

Obit | Anna M. (Annie)'s obituary was published in the Courier on 8 December 1932: Funeral and burial services for Mrs. A.W. Curtis were held at Gray’s Chapel Tuesday morning with a large number of friends and relatives from Randolph and Guilford counties in attendance. Mrs. Curtis died Sunday afternoon at her home in Greensboro after an illness of fifteen months. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Curtis was Miss Annie M. turner. She was born in Randolph County. Fifteen years ago she moved to Greensboro from Liberty and lived there since that time. She leaves her husband; four daughters, Mrs. R.C. Teague, of Raleigh; Mrs. W.C. Ramsey, of Statesville; Mrs. J..D. Welch, Jr., of Washington, D.C; and Miss Ruth Curtis, of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Anna Rebecca Teague and Clinton Teague, of Raleigh, and Mary Ann Ramsey, of Statesville; a sister, Mrs. J.W. Steele, of Greensboro; and a brother, W.H. Turner, of Raleigh.9 |
