Gene Dodd and Robert Darrell Dodd; one brother, Robert Dodd; and two sisters, Edna Caylor and Edith Norris. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Shelby Dodd of Athens and Carolyn Dodd of Athens; seven grandchildren, Valerie Waldrop, Joey Dodd, Kenny Dodd, Rodney Dodd, Sandra Carr, Charlie Dodd and Elizabeth Dodd; nine great-grandchildren; one expected great-great-grandchild; two brothers, R.B. Dodd of Chattanooga and J.C. Dodd of Cleveland; and two sisters, Dema Shoemaker of Cleveland and Barbara Burns of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in South Liberty Cemetery.1 |

Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Carrie Lee Presley, Eva and Jack Blevins and Mary Newman, all of Etowah, six sons and daughters-in-law, William R. “Bill” and Sallie Curtis of Etowah, James and Wanda Curtis of Athens, Charles and Reba Curtis of Etowah, Scott and Trina Curtis of Philadelphia, Dr. Harold and Irene Curtis of Etowah and Jerry and Ellen Curtis of Bitely, Mich; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one sister, Elizabeth Scoggins of Blacksbury, S.C. Funeral services were 8 p.m. Sunday in the south chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Crockett and the Rev. Wayne Fritts officiating.
