Marty Jill SHEETS, 78, of 129 W. Ninth St., died at 12:40 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn Hospital. She had been in failing health for a year. She was born Aug. 3, 1907 in Rochester to Lewis Clay and Lina May JOHNSON
SHEETS and had resided all her life in Rochester. A registered nurse, she graduated from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She had practiced private duty nursing at Woodlawn Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the choir for many years, and a member o the Epsilon Gamma Sunday School class.
Surviving are a brother, John W. SHEETS, Calimesa, Calif., and nieces and nephews, including Betty Jane BAKER, Mrs. John (Doris) MADLEM and Mrs. Jack (Joyce) SMILEY, all of Rochester. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Donald MAUGHAN officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services.6

Don [SHEETS], 60, native of Rochester, died Saturday in St. Louis, Mo., following major surgery which he had undergone Christmas Day. He had been in critical condition since that time. The son of Lewis Clay and Lina M. SHEETS, he was born in this city and graduated from Rochester high school. He received a degree in electrical engineering, with honors, from Purdue and in his senior year won the Big Ten diving championship. Mr. Sheets lived in Milwaukee prior to moving to St. Louis, in 1930. He long had been associated with Pieper Lillard company, which supplies line materials to public utilities, and before leaving that firm was its sales manager and vice president. Since last year, he had devoted full time to his own company, also manufacturing line materials. Surviving are the wife, Mary [SHEETS]; a daughter, Lisa [SHEETS], St. Louis; a son, Philip [SHEETS], Charlotte, N.C; one grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) READ and Miss Marty Jill [SHEETS], both of Rochester; and two brothers, John [SHEETS], Crestline, Cal., and Dee [SHEETS], Seattle, Wash. Preceding in death were two sisters, Mrs. Del (Glenn V.) DAGGY and Mrs. Joe (Ruth) BAKER, and one brother, Arthur SHEETS. Last rites and burial will be Tuesday in St. Louis.5

He was a member of the First Baptist church, and the Rochester Eagles, Moose, and Masonic lodges. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) SMILEY, Rochester; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) READ, and Miss Martha SHEETS, both of Rochester; three brothers, Donald [SHEETS], St. Louis, Mo; Dee [SHEETS], Seattle, Wash., and
John SHEETS, San Bernardino, Cal. Final rites will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Rev. Donald LAMBERT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Survivors are three sons, Roy Brubaker and Claude BRUBAKER, both of near this city; Harry BRUBAKER, Osceola, Ind; two daughters, Mrs. Golda McMURROUGH, Hammond; Mrs. Della SKIDMORE, Jackson, Mich; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Sunday afternoon from the local Trinity Evangelical church. Rev. C. J. COVERSTONE will officiate and burial will be made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Richland Center. The body will remain at the Foster funeral home until 12:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon, when it will be removed to the Evangelical church.8

Lewis A. FOOR, 84, lifelong resident of the Macy and Mentone community. He died Saturday evening at the Masonic Home in Franklin where he had resided for the past five years. He had been ill for the past three years with a heart ailment. Mr. Foor was born in Macy and was first married to Cora STETSON in 1888. She died in 1936. In 1938, he married Mrs. Amy DAVIS, who died in 1946. Surviving are a son, Ben FOOR of Rome City, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bessie YOCUM of Washington and Mrs. Maude OUTTANK, Desmoines, Ia., two stepsons, Hugh LYONS of Des Moines, and Walter LYONS of Oklahoma; a grandson and two great-grandchildren. Burial was made in the Macy cemetery.6

Eddie BRUBAKER, aged 60 years, a former resident of Rochester, died Tuesday morning at the Epileptic home at Newcastle, according to word received here by his brother, Claude BRUBAKER, who left Wednesday morning for Newcastle to bring the body to Rochester for burial. The mother, Mrs. Samuel BRUBAKER, of Hammond, two brothers, Claude BRUBAKER, of this city, and Harry BRUBAKER, of South Bend, and two sisters, Mrs. Dell SIDMORE, of Michigan, and Mrs. Goldie THRUSH, of Hammond, survive.
Thursday, May 24, 1923 Funeral services for the late Eddie BRUBAKER, who died Tuesday at Newcastle, were held Thursday afternoon at Richland Center. Burial at Richland Center.
